Highlander Experience
‘Take the Queen’s shilling’ and join a 78th Highlander for an immersive introduction to life at the Citadel. Explore the parade square, ramparts and historic rooms while taking part in hands-on activities that bring the past to life.
This experience includes:
A guided tour of the Halifax Citadel
Interactive activities such as marching drill, music and artillery instruction
A reproduction Victorian-era shilling coin
Light refreshments, including tea, coffee and pastries
Free time to explore the site at your own pace
Spirits & Spirits
Discover the darker side of the Citadel with a guided evening experience through tunnels and fortified passageways, illuminated by candlelight. Following the tour, unwind in the historic Soldiers’ Library with a guided tasting of three Halifax Citadel-aged spirits, Noon Gun Gin, Daily Ration Rum and Granite & Grain Whisky, paired with charcuterie.
